What is more important than music and reading? To the characters in The Big Racket, the answer is absolutely nothing. This story is about three kids who use sticks to make music on trashcans on the way home from school each afternoon. The residents belong to a Button Your Lip book club and enjoy reading quietly at that time. The residents are upset about the noise. One of the residents, Mr. Nicholas devises a plan to stop the big racket, but the kids put a new twist on his plan in a rollicking ending.
